Abstract

The Gender Inequality Index (IKG) in Southeast Sulawesi in 2023 was 0.491, an increase of 0.001 points compared to 2022 which was 0.490.2.
Gender equality increased slightly, marked by an increase in the Gender Inequality Index (IKG), which was mainly influenced by a decrease in the reproductive health dimension and empowerment dimension.
The decline in the reproductive health dimension is influenced by the increase in the indicator for the proportion of ever-married women aged 15-49 years who at the time of giving birth to their first live child were less than 2 years old without health facilities, which rose from 17.2 percent in 2022 to 17.6 percent in 2023.
The decline in the empowerment dimension is influenced by the percentage of the female population 25 years and over with a minimum of high school education which fell from 38.11 percent in 2022 to 37.90 percent in 2023.
