Abstract

In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Southeast Sulawesi Province will be 2.57 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.89. The highest inflation occurred in Baubau City at 2.96 percent with a CPI of 106.96 and the lowest occurred in Konawe Regency at 2.44 percent with a CPI of 107.82.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.03 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.08 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.56 percent; health group by 0.25 percent; transportation group by 1.30 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.03 percent; education group of 3.40 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.25 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.83 percent. The expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: the clothing and footwear group and the information, communication and financial services group each by 0.81 percent.

Sulawesi Tenggara Province experienced month to month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.10 percent and year to date (y-to-d) inflation of 1.37 percent.
